Answers to the questions most commonly asked about heating.
It is important to have the correct wattage for the size of aquarium and you should use the guide on the packaging.
• If the aquarium is in a particularly cold area, then select the next higher wattage.
• If the aquarium is particularly large, it is better to have two heaters located at either end of the aquarium (adding up to the total recommended wattage), to ensure even heat throughout the aquarium.
As it is important that the heater is positioned diagonally and fully submerged in water, it is unlikely that it would be suitable for the depth of water in a terrarium.
Yes, we advise that all our Aquarium Heaters are designed to work only in the water. Running a heater out of the water can cause serious internal damage.
The heater will automatically operate according to the temperature setting.
When the heater is in operation, the red light will indicate when the heating is taking place. Once the desired temperature has been reached, the integral thermostat will turn the heater off. This can be seen as the red light will turn off.
We would recommend that the heater is placed on the back of the aquarium, preferably near the filter.
It must be placed diagonally and be fully submerged. Furthermore, the heater should not be place above an air pump.
The condensation can occur at manufacturing stage, due to the humidity of the environment in which the heaters are produced, but this does not in any way affect the performance of the heater, nor is it a safety issue.
2 years for our Deltatherm Heaters and 1 year for our Nano Heaters.
We would advise that during the guarantee period, under the sales of goods act/ Consumer Rights Act 2015, if there is a manufacturing fault with the product, the retailer from where the unit was purchased are obliged to resolve the matter for you, as this is where your contract lies.
If your retailer does not have stock of a particular product it can be ordered in.
