When first inserting The Coir Tech Cartridge into the Bio-CF Filter, natural tannins and flavonoids from the coconut coir may be released into the water, causing a temporary brownish discolouration in very rare cases. These compounds are completely fish-safe and provide beneficial antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
The discolouration is most noticeable within the first 48 hours, but the activated carbon in the Bio-CF Filter will remove most of it over time. If you want to speed up the process, performing a partial water change can help clear the water more quickly. Additionally, the tannins act as a natural algae inhibitor, making them beneficial for maintaining a cleaner aquarium environment..

The product code is 2206. Please note that these suckers are for use with both the PF and BIO-CF filters.
The location hook is packed in the box in-between the Biomedia chamber and back of filter. It can be difficult to spot.
However, if it is not included, unfortunately, it is not a listed spare part and in this instance please contact our Customer Care team.
The Bio-CF filter is designed to have an overflow system. The overflow does not signify that the filter is excessively dirty but is the correct functioning of the system.
Carry out your usual monthly maintenance and change the cartridge every 28 days for optimal performance.
If you have a lot of fish and/or you feed a lot, it would be worth checking the cartridge slightly more frequently.
