How to be sure
Your aquarium has blobs of mud-like matter on the base, on plants and ornaments. This often clumps up in the corners and around objects, it is unsightly and can encourage disease – so it’s time to get cleaning.
Step 1 – Treat your aquarium
- Treat your aquarium with Sludge Buster. You can check how much you need to dose here.
- Clean your aquarium substrate using a Gravel Cleaner – this will help remove sludge at the bottom of your aquarium.
- Use Keep it Clean tablets ongoing to help keep your aquarium in tip top condition and prevent further sludge build ups.
Step 2 – Support your fish
- Use Aquilibrium First Aid Salt – to help your fish feel well, while your water quality improves.
- If your fish are gasping at the surface, increase oxygen levels by adding an air pump.
