If you have an older CF filter, there’s no need to buy a new filter—simply slide in the new Coir Tech cartridges and you are good to go. For those looking to simplify filter maintenance even further, our Bio-CF Conversion Kit offers an even easier, and mess-free solution.

1. Open the CF Filter Lid Begin by lifting the clear lid of your CF filter to the fully open position. This gives you access to the internal components and allows for an easy swap of the cartridges.
2. Remove the Old CF Cartridge Next, carefully take out the old CF cartridge and be sure to dispose of it responsibly.
3. Remove the Algaway Pad Remove the Algaway CF holster from the filter, then slide out the old Algaway pad. Again, discard this responsibly. This prepares the filter for the new Coir Tech cartridges.
4. Insert the New (FRONT) Coir Tech Cartridge Now, take the new (FRONT) Coir Tech cartridge and insert it into the Algaway CF holster.
If you have a CF Mini, you can skip the holster—simply slot the cartridge directly into its section. Be sure to reinsert the cartridge as shown in the provided images or video.
Top Tip: Before inserting the Coir Tech cartridge into the filter, submerge it underwater for 5 seconds. This helps expel any trapped air and ensures the cartridge performs at its best.
5. Install the New (BACK) Coir Tech Cartridge Next, take the new (BACK) Coir Tech cartridge and insert it snugly into the front of the ceramic cartridge. This tight fit ensures the filter operates efficiently. After inserting the cartridge, close the filter lid to complete the installation of the Bio CF Filter.
6. Regular Maintenance To keep your aquarium in optimal condition, replace the Coir Tech cartridges every month. Regular replacements will ensure your tank remains clean, healthy, and crystal clear for your aquatic life.
