It sounds like your aquarium has low water levels
How to be sure
Your water level is reduced or perhaps you’re having to top up your aquarium more frequently than you usually do? Your fish may also be gasping or swimming closer to the surface of the water than normal.
Step 1 – Treat your aquarium
- Top up your aquarium with tap water treated with Bioactive Tapsafe plus or Goldfish Fresh Start. You can check how much you need to dose here.
- Check your aquarium for drips or leakages.
- Consider adding an evaporation tray if you have an open top aquarium
- If the fish are gasping , consider adding an air pump to your aquarium to improve oxygenation.
